ASSOCIATED PRESS - GREAT FALLS, Mont.
"Montana's Libertarian candidate for Senate has turned blue from drinking a silver solution that he believed would protect him from disease," the Associated Press reports. "Stan Jones, a 63-year-old business consultant and part-time college instructor, said he started taking colloidal silver in 1999 for fear that Y2K disruptions might lead to a shortage of antibiotics.
He made his own concoction by electrically charging a couple of silver wires in a glass of water.
His skin began turning blue-gray a year ago............"
"People ask me if it's permanent and if I'm dead," he said. "I tell them I'm practicing for Halloween."
He does not take the supplement any longer, but the skin condition, called argyria, is permanent. The condition is generally not serious..............."
Did you know most people make a useless form of colloidal silver, as he admitted?
We have tried for years to educate others that metallic particles of all metals are risky and also lack bio-availability, making a very weak medicine, which then tends to be taken in excessive doses, and thus side effects!
In a saline environment like the blood, the usual metallic silver colloid, made by many, has less then 0.01% bio-availability and high PPM, giving HIGH RISK - SMALL GAIN!
The proper type for consumption is ionic, as found in any soluble mineral, and thus high bio-availability so tiny doses are effective. HIGH GAIN - SMALL RISK!
It is the accumulation and growth of large silver salt crystals that cause the grey/blue color when activated by UV light. I know 3 women that also got a facial blue tint from excessive use of home made colloidal silver nasal sprays, estimated at over 100PPM metallic, based on its color and their time of operation in making it! (The typical (3) batteries and silver wire setup)
Too much of anything in the hands of the uninformed is risky!
Did you know as few as four (4) Extra Strength Tylenol have caused death in adults! Just 11 will kill the average person and far less will kill drinkers or drug users. Hospitals report many deaths in children and adults yearly!
From a medical site on Acetaminophen poisoning - "the reason Acetaminophen is so toxic to the liver is that it rapidly depletes glutathione. Glutathione is used up in the metabolism of many drugs, foods, environmental toxins, etc. So therefore, it is possible for someone who is exposed to another substance that uses glutathione to have a hepatotoxic reaction to a relatively small dose of Acetaminophen."
Risk abounds in life but do not fear turning blue from colloidal silver (unless you had been suckered into taking high PPM colored solutions for months) but recognize that there are both good and useless forms of colloidal silver! Our bodies simply can not utilize raw metals, only the soluble or ionic form!
